Course Description: The Dragonfly Meditation Instructor Certification prepares you to lead guided meditation in groups as well as with individuals. This course is designed to help you integrate and become familiar with the science that supports mindfulness practice as well as experience a range of mindfulness practices. Practices including body scans, walking meditation, eating meditation, loving kindness and more.
Instructor: Ann Marie Arvoy, Licensed Psychotherapist and Certified Meditation Instructor, is owner of Dragonfly Meditation Studio. She has her Masters of Psychology from Naropa University, Boulder, CO, which blends the practice of Buddhist Psychology with traditional psychology, and she has trained with Zindel Siegel, creator of Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). She has been a practicing meditation for almost 25 years, a psychotherapist for 18 years and has been teaching meditation for more than ten years. Ann Marie brings a unique blend of insight, psychology training, mindfulness experience and owner of a meditation studio to educating individuals in mindfulness.
Prerequisites: Completion of the book “Mindfulness in Plain English” by Bhante Gunaratana and at least one year of meditation practice.
